We are proud to be part of the Diocese of Hexham an Newcastle – to find out more about the Diocese click here.
Our Parish is St. Hilda’s and our Parish Priest is Fr. David Russell. https://diocesehn.org.uk/church/st-hilda/
We also have a special relationship with the Sisters of Mercy Convent in Sunderland, who provided us with Gabriel House when our school had to close due to RAAC.
I am very proud to welcome you to St. John Bosco Catholic Primary School, part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust. We are extremely proud of our thriving community which is made up of an inspiring group of talented and enthusiastic children; dedicated and passionate staff; a supportive and committed local governing committee and an extremely supportive and active parent body.
Our vision is Caring for each other as we live, learn and grow in God’s love this is at the heart of all we do. As such, we have high expectations of all stakeholders, ourselves and our children. In order to achieve our vision, we set challenging spiritual, moral, social, cultural and academic targets. Every one is encouraged to reach their full potential and recognise the contribution they can make to our school, parish and wider community.
Partnership with parents and carers is a vital part of how we achieve success. Our weekly Newsletter keeps parents up to date with the on-going activities, achievements and success of our children; curriculum events, parents meetings and planned learning days are designed to inform parents of curriculum expectations; termly reports provide opportunities for staff to communicate pupil progress, and school masses, liturgies and class assemblies offer parents, carers and families the opportunity to worship and pray with their children.
We are extremely proud of our school and strive to ensure that all of our children feel motivated, confident and safe to learn.
In the words of St John Bosco, “Without confidence and love, there can be no true education. If you want to be loved…you must love yourselves, and make your children feel that you love them.”
